Summer Camping Preparation

UPDATE
A few tips on how to prepare for Summer Camping.

1. Pack rain gear.

2. Be prepared to be Outside. Always wear your uniform while traveling and wear troop t-shirt.
3. Water bottle or camel bak is required. Mess kit.

4. Bring your Boots, Only bring running or tennis shoes as a back up.

5. Several pair of wool socks and underwear that need to be changed daily.

6. Flashlight it will get dark.

7. Bring a boonie hat (troop hat) to protect head from sun and wind.

8. Synthetic sleeping bag are recommended, pillow if needed. and ridge rest/z-lite

9. Service hours will happen during the week. Expect to spend the time working on rank requirements. You will have plenty of time to play.
10. NO FOOD in tents (racoons will be your new sleeping mate and it can damage the tents.
11. No BUG repellents in tents, I will ruin your tents waterproofing.
12. Tote or Pack for clothing a Big Ziploc for socks etc, keeps them dry.
13. Put your name and troop number on everything.
14. Notebook and pencil, a great idea.
